MUST SEE PT. V.

2013-11-10 20.10.26 from Megan Coyle on Vimeo.

PLAY Space Team. Ok, this is pretty embarrassing but... has this ever happened to you? This video is from when my SIL/BIL + friend Joel came to visit a few weeks back. We got completely obsessed with this game that made me equally frantic/angry and totally embarrassed. The game requires you to yell out in a very serious tone these completely insane demands that make me break down laugh-crying. As you can see, we had to pull out phone chargers in order to keep the game going because yes, we played for that long.

PREPARE I made this simple recipe twice in a week. This hardly even counts as cooking and it is super healthy. Harissa Roasted Vegetable Bowl via A House In The Hills.

READ Do you read Rookie? It is an online mag founded by Tavi (whom I adore for reasons that I may fangirl about later) that is geared towards teen girls that is incredible. I mean truly life-changing-for-this-25-y.o. incredible. I wish so desperately that I had this community available to me as a teen. Anyway, this article, for example, on family dynamics was so so helpful.

PAPA LOVE.

FINNEGAN + FIRE. from Megan Coyle on Vimeo.

Finnegan loves to laugh. And J loves to make him laugh. Lots of nights I'm saying, "C'mon Finny, time for bed!" and J is begging for five more minutes of time for tickling, chasing, twirling, and singing. Of course I say yes! Sitting back and watching the bond of these two deepen is one of the most beautiful and touching things I've ever experienced. There is something indescribable about watching the one you love learn to love so much.

GROWING LIKE A WEED.

A few months before Finnegan was born, I was introduced to an incredible app:  Everyday. The concept is simple; the app alerts you a time or two a day (if you so choose) to remind you to take a picture. It is typically used for self portraits, but I decided to use it for pictures of Finnegan. Although I wasn't nearly as consistent as I could have been (infant baby to care for, c'mon!), I have a really quick, super fun video that documents my sweet little newborn baby growing up (sad!) and losing the majority of his enormous cheeks (tears!). I will cherish this short little video forever. I could watch it a million times over (and have).  Check out the video behind the cut:

MONTH TEN.

Ten Months from Megan Coyle on Vimeo.

It seems that a month ten update on Finnegan has passed me by. I didn't take my usual portraits of him, and seeing that we're just days shy of month eleven, it didn't make much sense to take them now. Instead, I put together another little video of some of the things that have been going on around here.

FINNEGAN & HIS PRUNES.

Finnegan Eats Prunes -- 1/20/2013 from Megan Coyle on Vimeo.

How can I put this?  Finnegan has been a bit... irregular since the introduction of solids, so we're really pushing prunes right now. It's a good thing that Finn needs them, because I'd hate to have to keep feeding them to him every day with no excuse other than my own personal pleasure.

So anyway, solids is definitely a learning process for this new mama.  I'm awaiting a few little supplies that should arrive in the mail tomorrow and then the baby food making will be in full swing.  Wish me luck.  Or send me some advice, if you have any.  Watch this video over and over again like me and have an awesome day!

FINN'S LITTLE LAUGH.

Finnegan Giggles -- 11/3/2012 from Megan Coyle on Vimeo.

Well, we know that Finn has at least one laugh.  Oh my lanta (to borrow a phrase from ASW), this kid is stupid cute.  Sorry about my weirdo baby noises?  I couldn't help myself if I tried.

MORNINGS WITH MR. F.

Mornings With Finnegan - 11/1/2012 from Megan Coyle on Vimeo.

Finnegan's sweet (serious side eye from Mama over here) little way of entertaining himself at 5 or 6am.  Yelling that isn't quite mad, just really, really loud.  Not often what I most want to hear at this hour, but cute nevertheless.

P.S.  Don't you love this up-the-nose angle?  If Finn sees the camera in front of his face he usually stops doing whatever he's doing, so I've taken to using a spy-style approach.

P.P.S.  I've played this video like a hundred times for Finn and everytime he laughs hysterically
