All summer long I had been begging JSC to go to this enormous and beautiful lake with me. It is lined by trees and is never seen without a couple of boats in the water. This is the stuff of summer! Between the two main ways he had been spending his time (at an internship and studying for the GRE) you'd think it would have been an easier sell! A few weeks ago the ever dedicated student finally caved and we spent a Saturday in the water. We packed a picnic and the new picnic blanket I had just made and enjoyed some time together. It was one of those moments that really felt like we were a family, not just some kids playing house. Finnegan absolutely loved it. Justin and I sat on a blanket watching him play with sand, crawl through the shallow water, and sit and people watch.
